Mass Photometry
Mass photometry is a bioanalytical technique that allows for the determination of mass of individual biomolecules in solution, without the need for labels. This approach provides insights into the size, shape, and interactions of these molecules. This approach is label-free, rapid, sensitive, and versatile, with sample concentrations in the 100s of nM regime. Applications including determination of molecular weight and oligomeric state of proteins, study of protein-protein interactions and complex formation, and study of protein aggregation and stability.
A Refeyn TwoMP mass photometer has a range of 40 kDa – 5 MDa with an accuracy ~5-10% of known. Users provide their own consumable supplies for usage, including sample well cassettes, glass coverslips, and calibration mix. The instrument has a dedicated computer for data analysis.
