We study immune responses to BSL3 pathogens of major global public health importance, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis and SARS-CoV-2. We use both mouse and non-human primate models of infection. Our primary focus is on the mechanisms of host resistance and immunoregulation that limit tissue pathology mediated by peptide-specific CD4 and CD8 T cells.
