parkThe Park lab has a long-standing interest in understanding the molecular mechanisms that control cytokine receptor expression and signaling in T cells. We previously identified alternative splicing as a new mechanism to control the abundance of surface CD132, a shared receptor subunit for the cytokines IL-2, IL-4, IL-7, and IL-15, and we further discovered soluble CD132 proteins a new immunoregulatory molecules that tunes the cytokine responsiveness of T cells. Our current study further addresses the role and requirements of cytokine receptor signaling in the development, differentiation, and homeostasis of T cells with the aim to discover new regulatory mechanisms in T cell immunity.
