Anxiety & Panic

Current research suggests that one in ten Americans suffers from anxiety that disrupts their ability to function.  Anxiety disorders are manifested in many different types of physical, psychological, and behavioral symptoms.  Specific types of Anxiety disorders include: Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Phobia, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.  The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania is home to some of the world’s most renowned experts in the area of anxiety.

All treatment offered by Penn Behavioral Health is informed by the cutting edge research conducted in the Department of Psychiatry. Patients can elect to receive treatment through one of our excellent clinical programs or, if eligible, may receive treatment as a participant in a research trial at no cost.  Please see below for descriptions of our clinical and research treatment programs.
