Track: Center for Cognitive Therapy (Providing outpatient CBT for the full range of clinical problems). This can be a full-time position, or half-time (if the Fellow is also half-time at another clinical unit within Penn’s Department of Psychiatry).

Description: Clinical postdoctoral Fellows will receive training, education, clinical experience, and supervision in the delivery of evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy, including traditional Beckian cognitive therapy, schema-focused cognitive therapy, Third-Wave approaches, and integrative CBT. Clinical postdoctoral Fellows will also provide tiered supervision to pre-doctoral trainees. Postdoctoral Fellows will work alongside Dr. Cory Newman and Dr. Mary Anne Layden and will provide therapy for adult outpatients at the Center for Cognitive Therapy who present with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, trauma, substance use disorders, interpersonal problems, general life stressors, and other clinical problems. Clinical postdoctoral Fellows may also have the option of co-leading or leading group therapy, and/or providing couples therapy in selected situations. Patients at the Center for Cognitive Therapy are 18 years of age and older, representing a diversity of ethnicities, identities, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Responsibilities: On average, Clinical postdoctoral Fellows who are full-time at the Center for Cognitive Therapy will spend 26 hours delivering clinical care, both on-site and via remote telehealth (half-time Fellows will spend 13 hours directly seeing patients). The remaining time will be dedicated towards supervision, education, and administrative duties. As a Penn Psychiatry Fellow, there will be opportunities to participate in department didactics and attend Grand Rounds seminars.
