Home Institution Approval Letter—this is required for external candidates proposed for appointment on the Adjunct, Visiting, and Wistar** tracks, unless the candidate falls into one of the three, specific categories below:
For Penn Staff/Administrative candidates, upload Internal Justification (Adjunct track dossiers only)
For self-employed or externally retired candidates, upload Self-Employed/Externally Retired Justification (Adjunct track dossiers only). A clear explanation of current employment status must also be provided within Chair’s Recommendation letter.
Additional Requirements for Adjunct, Visiting, & Wistar Appointments and Promotions
For candidates who are leaving a full-time faculty appointment at Penn, a Termination Form and resignation letter must be submitted to OAA prior to submitting the dossier for the Adjunct case. Approval letter from new home institution is required.
**For Wistar track appointments the letter must be from the candidate’s supervisor at the Wistar Institute.
