Additional Requirements for Adjunct, Visiting, & Wistar Appointments and Promotions

  • For candidates who are leaving a full-time faculty appointment at Penn, a Termination Form and resignation letter must be submitted to OAA prior to submitting the dossier for the Adjunct case. Approval letter from new home institution is required.

  • **For any self-employed or externally retired Adjunct track candidate, clear explanation of current employment status must be provided within Chair’s Recommendation letter (in lieu of a Home Institution approval letter.)

Additional Requirements for Adjunct, Visiting, & Wistar Appointments and Promotions

  • Chair's Recommendation Letters for Appointment and Promotion must indicate:
    • The candidate’s anticipated role in the Perelman School of Medicine
    • The candidate's time commitment to the role
    • How the candidate’s services are essential to the mission of the department and PSOM (e.g. Teaching, Clinical, and/or Research)
    • Documentation to support the promoted rank
