About Anna T. Meadows, MD
Anna T. Meadows, MD, Emeritus Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine in the Perelman School of Medicine, is an internationally distinguished pediatric oncologist and founding director of the Cancer Survivorship Program at CHOP. During her 40-year career at CHOP, Dr. Meadows served as Director of the Division of Oncology & Children's Cancer, Research Center, established specialized care centers for survivors of childhood cancer of all ages, and authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications. Her pioneering work in the field of survivorship research and care was instrumental in developing protocols for childhood leukemia, lymphoma, and retinoblastoma and in advancing successful programs for the care of long-term survivors. From 1996 -1999, Dr. Meadows served as the inaugural Director of the Office of Cancer Survivorship at the National Cancer Institute. Among her many awards and honors, Dr. Meadows received the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Pediatric Oncology Award, the first ASCO Ellen L. Stovall Award for Advancement of Cancer Survivorship Care, the American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology (ASPHO) Distinguished Career Award, and Penn's William Osler Award for Clinical Research.
