Minimum Criteria to Submit a Faculty Pending Request
- For All - Candidate does not hold a current full-time appointment in PSOM.
- For All - A completed Search Certification has been uploaded in Interfolio and reviewed by OAA.
- For All - The RTR has been started and is at least "in Review." CSO review for Tenure track hires completed.
- For Senior Rank Tenure, CE, and Research Tracks – Extramural Consultant list is approved and Reference Packet is submitted.
- For Senior Rank AC Track - Peer Reference solicitation has started.
- For all Assistant Rank Appointments - Dossier is submitted to OAA in Interfolio RPT.
Key Information
- Temporary Faculty Pending status is a payroll job class in Work Day (see 2015 Memorandum, re: Retroactive Appointments).
- Temporary Faculty pending status is intended primarily for appointment types that require intensive processing (see Annual Procedures and Schedules Memo).
- Standard processing times must be factored in when negotiating appointment start dates. Faculty Pending is not a mechanism to determine a start date that bypasses the review process.
- Candidates are not permitted to use their proposed academic title while in faculty pending status. Candidates are not permitted to use Faculty Pending or any modified title with Faculty Pending prior to University approval (e.g.: Faculty Pending, Associate Professor – faculty appointment pending, Acting Professor etc.)
Faculty Pending Submission
- All requests are submitted to the school and ultimately reviewed by the Provost Office.
- Requests must be submitted to the school via the Faculty Pending Submission Form.
- If approved by PSOM, the form will be forwarded to the Provost’s Office for final determination.
