Certificate Programs

Certificate Program in Translational, Entrepreneurial, or Regulatory Science

The Certificate Program provides training in translational science through the completion of four credit units of coursework and a research project. The certificate is designed for PhD-level pre- or post-docs who want to extend their research into a clinical setting and Pre- and post-graduate clinical trainees (MD, VMD, DMD, MSN) who want to enhance their expertise in clinical research to inform research at the bench.

Clinical Research Certificate

The Clinical Research Certificate Program provides non-degree training for medical professionals conducting and collaborating on clinical research studies. Courses address fundamentals of epidemiology and biostatistics, clinical trial design, database development, practical aspects of study conduct, research ethics, and regulatory compliance.

Masters of Bioethics (MBE)

MBE is an interdisciplinary degree offered by the Department of Medical Ethics & Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania. The MBE degree program gives students broad exposure to the full range of topics and issues in contemporary bioethics, drawing on the expertise of our distinguished faculty and fellows.

Master of Health Care Innovation (MHCI)

The Master of Health Care Innovation from the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy is an online degree program that addresses the rapidly changing health care landscape and advances innovation among health care professionals worldwide. Through their coursework and program experiences, students will prepare to improve processes of care, increase value of health care services, shape health policy development and human behavior in health care, and apply sharpened skills in policy analysis, evidence-building, and decision-making.

Master of Science in Medical Education (MSEd)

The Master of Medical Education (MedEd) program is a unique collaboration between physician educators and education experts. Utilizing an executive education model aimed toward full-time healthcare professionals with an interest in medical education, the program provides a comprehensive, innovative curriculum designed for physicians and other healthcare professionals who want to pursue master-level training, evidence-based education, educational scholarship, and educational technologies. Brief on-site intensive sessions are paired with flexible distance learning to accommodate professionals from a broad geographic area and with a broad variety of professional roles and responsibilities.

Master of Science in Medical Ethics (MSME)

MSME aims to identify and train the next generation of biomedical ethicists. It combines intensive didactics, mentoring, and independent scholarly research.

Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE)

The MSCE is an excellent training program for those preparing to lead clinical research. Through the program's dedicated faculty mentorship, comprehensive curriculum, study protocol and thesis development, trainees are poised for academic research careers.

Master of Science in Health Policy Research (MSHP)

The MSHP program trains outstanding investigators to conduct health policy and health services research and prepares students for successful careers in academics, research, and policy.

Master of Science in Public Health (MPH)

The MPH program prepares health leaders by integrating research, education, and practice to promote health and prevent disease. The program's interdisciplinary model provides professionals with a public health lens that can be applied to current and future work.
