Filling out the Form
Preferred Day
We are currently publishing the newsletter only on Thursdays. In the Preferred Day field, choose Thursday from the dropdown menu.
Submission Category
In the Submission Category field, choose an appropriate category from the dropdown menu (Research Funding; Seminars, Lectures and Symposia; Announcements and Events; Professional Development).
Is this an event with a date?
If you are submitting an announcement for an event with a date, such as a lecture or funding deadline, choose yes. An Event Date field will appear. Click on the field to choose the appropriate date from a calendar.
Title
This is the headline line for your announcement. Enter a short title in this field, such as the name of a lecture, or the name of a funding award.
Tagline or brief summary
This short description will appear under the title on the front page of the newsletter. Provide a short summary, generally the first sentence from your announcement.
Main point of contact for submission
Provide your email address in case a content reviewer needs to get in touch with you for additional information or clarifications. This is for internal use and will not appear in the newsletter. To provide contact information in an announcement, include it in the Body Copy.
Body Copy
Click the Add Body Copy button and paste your announcement into the pop-up window. All formatting, including hyperlinks, will be retained.
LiveWhale Link
If you are announcing an event that has been entered into the LiveWhale calendar, copy the calendar link and enter it in this field.
Additional notes to approver
Provide any additional information you think might help the content reviewer. This information is not required and will not appear in the newsletter.
PDF Attachment
If your announcement includes a PDF attachment, such as a brochure, upload it here. It will appear as a download link at the top of your announcement.
Image
If you have a .jpg or .png image to include with your announcement, such as a poster, upload it here. It will appear with the text of the announcement. (To take up the full width of the email, the image should be at least 520px wide.)
Submit
Please review your announcement and click the Submit button to complete your submission.
